If the above qualifications are met, you can apply for an E-1 Visa. The application process consists of completing an online application and scheduling an interview at a U.S consulate or embassy generally in the country in which you permanently reside. The length of the process varies vastly depending on volume of applications, embassy/consulate location and the type of visa you are applying for.
The E-1 Visa is valid to a maximum of 5 years, depending on the treaty with your country of citizenship. Provided you comply with the conditions of your visa, you may continue to extend your E-1 Visa indefinitely for up to 2 years at a time. The E-1 is a non-immigrant (temporary) visa, therefore just as with any other non-immigrant visa you will have to demonstrate you intend to return home every time you apply to extend your visa.
The above is a general summary of the E-1 Visa.
