Process for Canadian Applicants
Canadian citizens can apply for a TN Visa at a U.S port of entry.
- The applicant must provide the job offer from the prospective employer; the position must be on the list of eligible professions.
- The applicant must provide a copy of their degree or professional license along with proof of Canadian citizenship such as a passport.
Process for Mexican Applicants
The process differs slightly for Mexican Citizens.
- Mexican citizens cannot apply at the border and should apply at a U.S consulate within Mexico.
- The applicant should present the job offer from the prospective employer; the position must be on the list of eligible professions.
- The applicant must provide a copy of their degree or professional license along with proof of Mexican Citizenship such as a passport. If the applicant is approved at the U.S consulate, the applicant can then apply for entry to the United States under T.N status at a U.S port of Entry.
